About the event

We are so delighted to be welcoming Angeline Morrison to the Goose for the first time!

Angeline is a singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who explores traditional song with a deep love, respect and curiosity. She mostly makes music in the genres of wyrd folk and psych folk.

Her original compositions and re-stitchings of traditional songs focus on storytelling and the small things that often go unnoticed.

Angeline's Sorrow Songs: Folk Songs of Black British Experience was the Guardian Folk Album of the Year in 2022. The album uses history and imagination to tell stories of UK Black ancestors in the sonic style of UK traditional and folk music.

‘A ground-breaking album.’ Folk Radio

‘An authentic, brave folk voice of Black British experience.’ Tradfolk.co

‘Unequivocally one of the finest and most important folk albums of this, or indeed, any year.’ Folking.com

Supports tonight are JOE WILKES and KATE OWEN.

Joe Wilkes delivers a brand of fingerstyle guitar wrapped in self-deprecating humour.

Kate Owen is a local traditional singer with a lovely voice.

At The Ivy House, London’s first community-owned pub.

Tickets are £17 advance, £19 on the door (cash or BACS only)

Door 7pm. Live music starts 8pm and finishes 11pm.

This concert will be half seated, half standing, so come early if you want to be sure of a seat!

Please be aware that whilst our events are held in The Ivy House's  beautiful Grade 2 listed ballroom, this is a pub, so there may be some  background noise from adjoining bars. We and the pub management  have done our best to minimise this, however as this is a listed building there are restrictions on what kinds of soundproofing can be done. We hope you understand.

PLEASE SEE OUR FAQ FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT OUR CONCERTS!
