About the event

with support from JOANIE BONES and CAROLINE STUPNICKA

THE BROTHERS GILLESPIE are a duo from Hexham who we are delighted to be finally welcoming to the Goose after Covid prevented their appearance earlier!

As their website says, they "sing songs of great lyrical power, animated by the sound of soaring sibling harmony, inspired guitar playing and a rich array of acoustic instruments. Their songs and performances have a rare intimate energy that is both earthy and ethereal, romantic and radical."

We think they are brilliant!

JOANIE BONES has a background spanning a deep love of British folk, Persian and Jewish ancestry and a strong connection to the land of these islands. She brings a unique perspective to the folk arts of song and story of the British Isles. Transcending the divides of urban/rural, ancient/modern, folk/fusion, song/story, she gathers the fragments of cultures, lands and the human experience into a music of soul, spirit and connection and into tales of wonder and compassion.

CAROLINE STUPNICKA was a regular at our singarounds until she moved to Canterbury! She has a powerful voice and is a previous winner of Islington Folk Club's Trad to Mad competition.
