About the event

With Simeon Jones, and support from Robin Adams, Sam Grassie and Alfie Jones

NEARLY SOLD OUT AS OF 22 FEBRUARY!!!

Buy your tickets quickly, as this is a very rare gig from the now mainly retired Wizz Jones!

Inspired by hearing Big Bill Broonzy and Ramblin' Jack Elliot, Wizz Jones learnt his guitar licks from the likes of Davy Graham and Long John Baldry whilst playing in the coffee bars of London's Soho in the late 1950's.

He then followed the time-honoured buskers' trail from the streets of Paris to the markets of Marrakech during the early 1960's and returned to Britain with a unique acoustic guitar style, an eclectic repertoire and a 'right hand worthy of Broonzy'.

Wizz is admired and emulated by some of folk and rock's greatest players. On the 1960s club scene, he was an early influence on the likes of Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and Rod Stewart, and Bruce Springsteen is among the artists to have covered Wizz's songs.

Simeon Jones, Wizz's son, plays sax, flute and harmonica.

Alfie Jones, Wizz's grandson, is following in Wizz's footsteps by playing guitar, and is an excellent musician in his own right. More information about Alfie coming soon!

Robin Adams is a Glasgow based singer/songwriter. He has released 6 full length albums, from 2009's Down to Reverie to 2020's One Day, all of which have received critical acclaim.

Scottish-born, London-based fingerstyle guitarist and songwriter Sam Grassie is talented beyond his years - a young musician lending fresh energy to time-worn sounds, and a rising star in the world of trad folk.
